The character I'm thinking of is loosely based off of a Sea Water Nymph, a creature from Greek Mythology. During my research of the classical impression of a Water Nymph, I found that the majority of designs were heavily influenced by human form and almost resembled mermaids in some cases.
Due to the more cartoon style of animation I'm aiming for, I wanted my character to be more lovable and goofy rather than serious and regal in appearance.
I began collecting images from a wide variety of water life, ranging from sea mammals to sea slugs!
